State shoots anti-drug video at Ketchikan airport

Earlier this month, a handful of Ketchikan residents grabbed carry-on luggage, boarded the airport ferry and headed across the Tongass Narrows to the Ketchikan International Airport. They weren’t traveling anywhere, though. They were extras in a state anti-drug video.

Police say doctor’s death ‘suspicious,’ theft charges filed against friend

The death of Ketchikan doctor Eric Garcia earlier this week is now considered suspicious after police learned the friend who reported Garcia missing on March 27 had allegedly stolen money and valuable items from Garcia’s home.

STIP amendment includes $94 million for Gravina access

New items on the 2016-2019 STIP would include about a dozen projects related to improving access to Gravina Island; along with improvements at the Ketchikan Shipyard, a state-owned facility managed by Vigor Industrial; and funding to help refurbish Inter-Island Ferry Authority vessels.
