Water main break leaves large hole on Baranof

Some Ketchikan residents were without water service until Monday afternoon following a water main break at the intersection of Baranof Avenue and Hill Road. The pipe is fixed, but it might take a couple days before the road is ready for cars.

City Council to appoint new member in special session

Elected Council Member Sam Bergeron resigned his position recently because of a work conflict. When a Council member resigns in the middle of a term, those remaining on the Council appoint a temporary replacement who fills the seat until the next regular election.
