Candidates address House District 33 GOP forum

Three candidates are running to become the Republican candidate for Alaska’s House District 33. They gathered in Ketchikan Friday for a forum hosted by the First City Republican Women. Patti Mackey, Agnes Moran and Peggy Wilson all will be on the Aug. 28th Republican primary ballot. Each hopes to garner enough votes to become the GOP candidate this fall for the brand new House District 33.

Pool to open Monday

The Ketchikan Gateway Borough Parks and Recreation department announced Friday that the new pool will open Monday. The first swimming opportunity will be 5 a.m. Monday, when the pool opens for lap swims.
