The Ketchikan Community Foundation announced this week that it has been awarded another $50,000 matching grant from the Rasmuson Foundation. The grant is in response to the foundation raising $25,000 in local funds.

This is the second year in a row that the Ketchikan Community Foundation met its local fundraising goal and received a matching grant from Rasmuson.

That Anchorage-based foundation also has given $5,000 in additional funds for the local foundation to spend on training and other needs.

The Ketchikan Community Foundation was founded in January of 2013 by local residents who hope to build a permanent endowment. The group’s goal is to invest its funds, and then provide grants out of the investment profits to area nonprofit organizations.
