A ramp providing access to the Naha River National Recreation trail from the boat dock has been replaced.

According to an announcement from the U.S. Forest Service, the Naha trail, roughly 15 miles north of Ketchikan, was damaged during a November, 2014, windstorm. The ramp also was damaged, and was removed for safety.

The replacement ramp, which comes from Naukati, was paid for through Ketchikan Resource Advisory Committee funds. RAC funds later will be used to repair parts of the trail, as well.

Until then, hikers should be careful on the trail. The Forest Service advises that parts of the boardwalk may need repairs, and can be slippery.
