Kayhi Class of 2013 Graduates

The Ketchikan High School Class of 2013 celebrated its graduation on Sunday. More than 100 students processed past friends, relatives and fellow classmates to receive their diplomas.

300 participate in 14th annual POW Marathon

Prince of Wales Island had a small, but healthy, population boost over Memorial Day weekend for the 14th annual POW Marathon. The first full-marathon runner to cross the finish line was Rep. Jonathan Kreiss-Tomkins.

Second “Salmon Run” bus finished, blessed

Ketchikan’s newest addition to the Salmon Run fleet of buses started its newly decorated life with drumming, dancing, singing and praying during the dedication ceremony on a blessedly warm, sunny day outside the borough’s offices.

Board talks budget, No Child Left Behind

Superintendent Robert Boyle expressed optimism about the ongoing Ketchikan Gateway Borough School District budget process at the School Board’s regular meeting Wednesday. The budget has been a topic of much discussion for the last couple of months.
