At the Plaza mall in Ketchikan’s West End, a slow but steady stream of voters trickled through the polls around lunchtime. Joanna Brown stopped in with her son to cast her ballot.

“It’s truly our duty as an American to vote. And if we don’t, we don’t have a right to grumble or gripe about anything that goes on,” she said.

Polls are open until 8 p.m. Tuesday. A list of polling places is available at the borough’s website. Live coverage of the returns starts at 9 p.m. on KRBD.
